First NeoSTEM meeting of 2025 Surfaces Big Questions With Plans for Tackling Perennial Challenges

How can we get students transported to out-of-school opportunities?

How do we ensure that big STEM events like Score With STEM with the Cleveland Cavaliers and STEM Day with the Guardians are not random acts of STEM?

How can NEOSTEM help broker connections among various organizations all seeking to improve learning opportunities and connections to workforce?

How can we take valuable learning opportunities out to neighborhoods in our community?

These are among the many questions that were discussed at the first meeting of 2025 of the NEOSTEM Ecosystem.

The conversation was robust. The engagement was strong. And the resolve to address these and other questions is unwavering.

In case you missed it, here’s the Jan. 7,2025 recording.

The next meeting of the NEOSTEM Ecosystem, scheduled for 4 p.m. Feb. 4, will revisit some of these questions and we’ll be diving in with some possible solutions:

  • TRANSFORMING RANDOM ACTS OF STEM INTO LASTING ENGAGEMENT: We will brainstorm ideas for how to use Score With STEM with the Cleveland Cavaliers and STEM Day with the Guardians as powerful tools for engaging students in STEM throughout the year. That means we will want to promote various programs and resources.
  • TAKING LEARNING TO COMMUNITIES & LOOKING FOR PARTNERS: Local Artist Gwen Garth (King and Queens of Art) who’s studio The Art Palace will be talking about her plans to take her Artmobile,  The Art Palace on Wheels  out to various neighborhoods in Cleveland. Gwen is interested in partnerships with organizations that may have complementary resources to share.

Score With STEM with the Cavaliers on March 16, 2025 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse

We have partnered with the Cleveland Cavaliers to bring Score With STEM to students and families. This event will be packed with hands-on learning designed to spark interest in STEM. Students will enjoy a day of learning and fun bookended by cheering on the beloved Cavs as they take on the Orlando Magic at 6:00 p.m. We invite you to participate in these three ways:

  • Join our Events Committee – Please consider joining our Planning Committee. We meet every Wednesday at noon and cover topics such as exhibitors, volunteers, outreach and the promotion of any other events/opportunities that you have so we can amplify and uplift each other. Committee Interest Form
  • Be an Exhibitor –  We are inviting community organizations, businesses and STEM enthusiasts to participate as exhibitors and share hands-on activities, demonstrations or resources that spark curiosity and excitement. This event is the perfect opportunity to engage, educate and build meaningful connections. Exhibitor Form
