Record-Breaking Hoops: NEOSTEM at the Cleveland Charge STEM Day

Students cheering at the Charge Game

On March 3, 2026, history was made at Cleveland Public Hall as the Cleveland Charge hosted its largest-ever School Day with STEM. This was a massive activation of the Northeast Ohio STEM Ecosystem and a win for STEM.

By the Numbers

  • A Record-Breaking Crowd: Nearly 7,000 fans and students packed Public Hall, marking the largest STEM Day in Cleveland Charge history.
  • STEM in the Stands: Over 6,000 students turned the arena into a lab, using Charge-branded workbooks and kits to analyze the physics and data of the game in real-time.
  • A Dominant Victory: The Charge electrified the hometown crowd with a massive 148–105 win over the Windy City Bulls—a 43-point masterclass in execution.

Innovation Center Court

The highlight of the day was a true team effort between the Cleveland Charge, NEOSTEM, and our partners at STEM Playbook, who supported our efforts in bringing sports-related STEM learning ideas to the interactive curriculum.

The halftime show took “STEM in the Stands” to the next level as students from Davis Maritime and Aerospace High School took over the court for a drone basketball demonstration.

The Ecosystem in Action

With Ohio projected to need over 540,000 new STEM workers by 2032, these experiences prove that the best way to learn is to get in the game. When students track the geometry of a shot or pilot a drone at halftime, they stop seeing math as a hurdle and start seeing it as a tool for success.

By connecting professional sports with hands-on learning, we’re building the next generation of engineers, data scientists, and leaders.

The series continues! Join NEOSTEM for the next Score with STEM event at Rocket Area on March 27.
