STEM and Sports rely on teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, requiring a deep understanding of scientific and mathematical concepts. This is why sports can be an effective gateway to learning critical STEM skills.
For many students, sports are a passion and a way of life. Students can become more engaged and excited about science, technology, engineering, and math – STEM – by incorporating STEM concepts into the sports they love.
Sports can also help break down stereotypes and barriers in STEM fields. By making complex concepts accessible and exciting student interest and confidence increases, allowing them to see themselves in STEM careers.
Through partnerships with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Guardians, and other sports organizations, we’re showing students that STEM is already part of the games they love.
Score with STEM, March 16th
NEOSTEM and the Cleveland Cavaliers are excited to bring together partners, students, and families from across Northeast Ohio for the fourth annual Score with STEM Day at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Score with STEM will ignite curiosity, spark innovation, and showcase the excitement of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), while highlighting career opportunities STEM can unlock.
STEM Day, May 14th
Take a Field trip to the ballpark for a day of hands-on learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The Main concourse of Progressive Field will be filled with STEM focused activities from Cleveland businesses and community organizations! Bring your energy to cheer on the Guardians at the game!
