Join us in welcoming Michele Crawford, a visionary Cleveland-based designer and project manager whose journey exemplifies the transformative power of STEM in community building. From serving with Habitat for Humanity to shaping Cleveland’s public spaces at the Metroparks, Michele’s career demonstrates how architecture and design can create positive change in our communities.
As an Americans For The Arts Leader of Color Fellow and recipient of AIA Cleveland’s Activism Award, Michele doesn’t just design buildings – she builds bridges between communities. Her work spans from youth arts initiatives to neighborhood development, always with a focus on making design accessible to all. A graduate of Ohio University and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Michele brings both technical expertise and artistic vision to her role in Cleveland’s design landscape.
What makes Michele truly special is her dedication to inspiring the next generation. Through her work with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), she actively creates platforms for emerging professionals, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. Her philosophy that “design changes our world” isn’t just a statement – it’s a call to action that resonates deeply with our NeoSTEM mission.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from a leader who’s reshaping Cleveland’s built environment while paving the way for future generations in STEM!
