STEM/
STEAM
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (and STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). You may have seen the word attached to things like academic programs and schools. But while STEM as a word stands for a set of four foundational skills, STEM as a concept means so much more. STEM is a mindset, one that embraces innovation, collaboration, and problem solving. Our world, everything around us, was built with STEM skills, and as it becomes more complex, as we grow more connected, the demand for students and employees who embrace the STEM mindset will increase dramatically. STEM is opportunity – to dream big, to think creatively, and to solve our world’s greatest challenges.
